Welcome to English and Cultural Studies

The Discipline Group of English and Cultural Studies is in the School of Social and Cultural Studies, within the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences at The University of Western Australia.

The group has a strong undergraduate and postgraduate teaching program, and is actively involved in research.

Areas of specialisation include:

• Australian and post-colonial literatures
• English literature
• Cultural studies
• Literary theory
• Creative and professional writing
• Theatre and performance studies

English and Cultural Studies hosts:

We also publish three scholarly journals:
